ABOUT US
Norm Friar began building caskets in 2003 after a friend of his family had a relative that passed away after an illness who "just wanted to be buried in a pine casket." The cost for a simple squared-off pine crate was then an astonishing $600. Norm hand-crafted his first casket that week for the family for the cost of materials only. The family's matriarch was so impressed with his work that she asked him to build another one for herself right after the funeral. He accepted, and since has used his engineering background to refine and improve his designs to be stronger, lighter, and with a more artisian look. His unique design is identified by a many-faceted jewel look of solid wood because the exterior top and sides are made of solid wood planks, not plywood while the price is always recognizable as affordable.

His desire for Friar's Funeral Casket is to be recognized in the region as the most affordable, dignified, beautiful, strong, and environmentally friendly casket in its class, and to provide an affordable resource for end-of-life needs that he finds rare in the field.
